Jacksonville sheriff's new policy restricts some officers from carrying guns into courthouse

The argument can go either way.

The more armed officers in an area would seem to make it a safer place. Or the more guns, the more likely the wrong guy gets shot in an crisis situation.

Fewer guns seem to have won the debate in Jacksonville where Sheriff John Rutherford recently set a new policy prohibiting law enforcement officers not in their official uniform from carrying firearms into the new Duval County Courthouse. The policy takes effect Tuesday.
