Jacksonville council reduces clerk of courts budget because of bonuses

The Jacksonville City Council pushed back against bonuses given by lameduck Duval County Clerk of Courts Jim Fuller to some of his workers by slashing about $174,000 from the office's 2012-13 budget.
The council approved that amendment Tuesday night while approving the budget for the fiscal year that starts next Monday.
City Councilman John Crescimbeni said the clerk's office evidently has ample "play money" to hand out bonuses so it's time to cut by the same amount what the city pays toward the clerk's office.
