Briefs: FSCJ grant to target better graduation rates for low-income

Florida State College at Jacksonville has received a $250,000 grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as part of an initiative to improve graduation rates among low-income students.

FSCJ is one of seven colleges or city agencies to receive Gates Foundation grants nationwide.

The money will help fund a nine-month National League of Cities initiative that aims to help young adults attend and graduate from FSCJ, the University of North Florida, Jacksonville University and Edward Waters College.
