Report: Florida has fewer 'dropout factories'

The report from America's Promise Alliance found that Florida had 147 schools in 2008 where fewer than 60 percent of students who started as freshmen were still enrolled four years later.

That's 15 fewer than there were in 2002.

Nationwide, there were 400,000 fewer students enrolled in dropout factories in 2008 than in 2002. Florida was one of seven states that account for 71 percent of the decline.
