Garbage collection from downtown Jacksonville commercial customers will continue and police officers will still work EverBank Field events, the result of budget compromises reached during City Council review.
Both items had been sticking points in the council's examination of the proposed 2012-13 budget.
Mayor Alvin Brown's plan originally would have eliminated the downtown garbage pickup to save several hundred thousand dollars.
